India vs West Indies 2nd ODI: Kohli, Gill Lead India’s Series Charge
Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill will be key to India’s push for an ODI series win against West Indies in Guwahati.
India will look to clinch the three-match ODI series against West Indies when the second game gets underway in Guwahati, with Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill among the key names in focus.

India won the opening ODI by eight wickets, with Kohli producing an unbeaten 139 and crossing the 15,000-run mark in ODI cricket. He will once again attract attention in Guwahati, where he has previously scored centuries in all three of his ODIs in Assam.

The match also marks a significant moment for Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi, who is set to make his India ODI debut. Nabi earned his opportunity after an outstanding 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, finishing as the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 60 wickets in 10 matches, including seven five-wicket hauls.

West Indies, meanwhile, will need a stronger all-round performance to stay alive in the series. They scored 295 in the first ODI, with Justin Greaves making a century, but India's chase proved comfortable after Kuldeep Yadav's wickets shifted the momentum.

India's pace attack will also be looking for improvement after conceding a sizeable total in the opening match. The quicks will need to provide greater control and support the spin department.

With India one win away from sealing the series, the West Indies face a must-win contest in Guwahati. All eyes will again be on Kohli, Gill and the new-look Indian bowling attack as the second ODI gets underway.
