Manickam Tagore Says INDIA Bloc Exits Will Regret Leaving Alliance
TNCC chief Manickam Tagore speaks about the INDIA bloc's unity and upcoming opposition protests.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Manickam Tagore has said that political parties leaving the INDIA alliance will eventually regret their decision, while asserting that the opposition bloc remains committed to working together.

His remarks come after the DMK stayed away from the INDIA bloc's latest coordination meeting in Delhi. The meeting was attended by leaders from 19 opposition parties, which agreed on a joint programme of protests over issues concerning the Election Commission and electoral-roll revision.

Tagore said the alliance would continue its campaign with district-level “Save Democracy” marches from October 2 to 8. Opposition MPs are also scheduled to march to the Election Commission's office on October 6, while the bloc has announced further rallies in October and November.

The Congress leader also dismissed the possibility of a separate third front, arguing that parties choosing to move away from the INDIA bloc would have limited political options. These comments reflect Congress's continuing efforts to present the opposition grouping as a common platform despite differences among its constituents.

The BJP, meanwhile, has criticised the bloc's latest meeting, pointing to the absence of several prominent leaders and questioning its cohesion. Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described the planned protests as politically motivated, while the opposition has framed them around electoral transparency and concerns over the Election Commission.

Tagore also expressed confidence about Congress's prospects in the Dharapuram and Madurantakam contests, while making claims about the DMK's electoral position. Those remarks represent his political assessment rather than an independently verified election outcome.
