Rajasthan Board Class 10 students will get two examination opportunities each academic year from 2026-27.
The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will conduct Class 10 board examinations twice a year from the 2026-27 academic session. The change is intended to reduce exam pressure and give students another opportunity to improve their results.

The first examination, expected in February-March 2027, will be compulsory for all students. Those who pass can appear for the second examination, expected in May-June, to improve marks in up to three subjects.

The higher mark obtained in each subject across the two examinations will be counted in the final result. Internal assessment and practical marks will be carried forward.

The second examination will also replace the existing supplementary exam system. Students who fail in up to two subjects, including certain combinations of absence and scores below the 33% qualifying mark, can use the second examination under the Essential Improvement category.

Students improving their marks must appear in the same subjects they select and cannot change them. Those failing three or more subjects will have to retake all subjects in the following academic year.

For students, the biggest change is simple: one bad exam day no longer has to become an entire academic-year plot twist.
