Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Kill Six, Injure Eight

At least six people were killed and eight others injured after Israeli airstrikes targeted areas south of Beirut in Lebanon, according to the country’s health ministry. The incident comes as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate amid the wider conflict involving Israel and Iran.

Lebanese authorities described the casualties as part of a preliminary toll following the strikes.

Strikes reported in towns near Beirut

The Lebanese health ministry said the attacks took place in the towns of Aramoun and Saadiyat, located south of the capital Beirut. Officials reported that the strikes resulted in multiple civilian casualties.

Both towns are outside the traditional strongholds of the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

Lebanese state media, citing reports from local authorities, also said an Israeli strike hit a hotel in Hazmieh, a suburb on the outskirts of Beirut.

Residential building reportedly hit in Baalbek

In a separate development, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that an airstrike targeted a four-storey residential building in Baalbek in eastern Lebanon early Wednesday.

According to the report, rescue teams were working to reach families believed to be trapped under the rubble. Authorities have not yet confirmed the final number of casualties from the strike.

Evacuation warnings issued in southern Lebanon

Earlier, the Israeli military reportedly issued warnings to residents in several towns and villages in southern Lebanon, advising them to leave their homes and move to safer open areas.

Officials stated that the warning was issued due to the ongoing military activity in the region.

Missile exchange reported across border

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it launched missiles toward Israel’s Haifa naval base in northern Israel.

The Israeli military later confirmed that several incoming projectiles were detected and said most of them were intercepted by air defense systems.

Conflict continues to escalate

The latest developments come as hostilities in the Middle East continue to intensify, with military exchanges reported across several countries in the region.

The conflict expanded following recent joint military actions involving Israel and the United States targeting sites in Iran, which were followed by retaliatory attacks across the region.
