Jio Platforms IPO: GMP at ₹211 Ahead of Expected October 21 Opening
Jio Platforms’ proposed IPO is expected to open on October 21, with the grey market premium reported at ₹211 on October 14.
Reliance Industries-backed Jio Platforms is preparing for its much-anticipated initial public offering (IPO), which is expected to open for subscription on October 21 and close on October 23.

The proposed issue could raise up to ₹30,213 crore, potentially making it India’s largest IPO and surpassing Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,800-crore offering in 2024.

Jio Platforms’ grey market premium (GMP) stood at ₹211 per share on October 14 at 12:37 pm, according to the figures provided. This was lower than the ₹218 recorded a day earlier. Other trackers reported slightly different premiums, highlighting the unofficial nature of grey-market trading.

GMP refers to the reported premium at which shares trade in the unofficial market before listing. While investors often track it to gauge sentiment, it is not an exchange-verified indicator and cannot guarantee listing gains.

Market trackers have indicated a possible listing date of October 28. However, the IPO schedule, valuation and issue terms remain subject to formal confirmation in the company’s offer documents.

Jio Platforms operates across telecom, broadband, digital entertainment, cloud services, enterprise technology and artificial intelligence. The proposed listing is also being closely watched for its potential to unlock value in Reliance Industries’ digital business.

Investors should avoid relying solely on GMP when evaluating the IPO. The final listing price will depend on factors including valuation, subscription demand, broader market conditions and the offer terms. Reviewing the company’s financial performance, risks and official disclosures is essential before investing.
