New Zealand have made two changes to their squad after Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes suffered injuries ahead of the T20I series against India.
New Zealand have suffered a double injury setback ahead of their five-match T20I series against India, with Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes ruled out of the upcoming tour. New Zealand Cricket confirmed on Friday that Chapman had sustained a hamstring injury, while Foulkes was dealing with a hip flexor problem.

Chapman injured his left hamstring while playing in the inaugural European T20 Premier League. Although the injury will keep him out of the T20I series, he is expected to recover in time for the subsequent five-match ODI series.

Foulkes sustained an injury to his right hip flexor during a training session with Canterbury. His return timeline remains uncertain, with the team yet to establish when the fast bowler will be fit to resume playing.

New Zealand have called up all-rounder Josh Clarkson and fast bowler Blair Tickner as replacements. Head coach Rob Walter expressed disappointment over the injuries but said the team was fortunate to have experienced options available.

Walter wished both injured players a smooth recovery and said Clarkson and Tickner were excited to join the squad for what he expects to be a competitive series.

The T20I series begins on October 22, with Mitchell Santner set to captain the Black Caps. Tim Seifert and Finn Allen will be among the players to watch as New Zealand prepare to face India, who defeated them in the T20 World Cup final earlier this year.

The five T20Is will be played across Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton. The tour will continue with five ODIs and two Test matches.

Mitchell Santner (captain), Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Josh Clarkson, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Bevon Jacobs, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Tim Seifert, Nathan Smith and Blair Tickner.
