Piyush Mishra Questions Naseeruddin Shah Over CJP Protest, Smit Machchhar
Piyush Mishra questioned Naseeruddin Shah’s participation in a CJP protest and asked why the veteran actor had not commented on recent incidents involving pilot Smit Machchhar and student protests.
Actor-writer Piyush Mishra has questioned veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah after Shah attended a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. The protest called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
In a video shared on social media, Mishra asked Shah to also speak about Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian Flydubai pilot who was seriously injured after being attacked by his co-pilot during a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight. Despite his injuries, Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to intervene. The aircraft, carrying 174 passengers, was later landed safely in Saudi Arabia.
Mishra also questioned Shah over his response to recent student protests and referred to an earlier episode involving relief efforts for students in Jharkhand. He recalled that Shah had sent him a poem when he had sought material assistance.
The remarks add another chapter to the public exchange between the two actors, which has previously involved discussions around student movements and celebrity responses to social issues. Shah has not publicly responded to Mishra’s latest comments.
