Nani Reacts to The Paradise Mixed Response, Says Criticism Shows Audience Trust
Nani has responded to the divided reaction to The Paradise, saying the intensity of criticism reflects the expectations and trust audiences placed in his collaboration with director Srikanth Odela.
Nani has addressed the sharply divided response to The Paradise, saying the intensity of criticism has surprised him after 18 years and 33 films. Despite some viewers disliking the film, the actor said he sees “passion” and “aggressive honesty” in the reactions.
Speaking alongside director Srikanth Odela, Nani said the strong response reflects the expectations audiences had after their earlier collaboration, Dasara. According to him, viewers entered theatres with considerable trust in the actor-director duo, making the intensity of their reactions meaningful even when they were negative.
Rather than dismissing criticism, Nani said he and Odela have taken it as feedback. He expressed hope that their next collaboration, whether together or separately, will satisfy audiences who felt disappointed by The Paradise while continuing to appeal to those who enjoyed the film.
Despite the mixed reception, The Paradise has continued its theatrical run. The film reportedly earned around Rs 97.76 crore net in India by Day 6, while its worldwide collection stood at approximately Rs 144.85 crore after five days.
Set in 1980s Secunderabad, The Paradise stars Nani as Jadal and features Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Kayadu Lohar and Sonali Kulkarni. The film marks Nani and Odela’s second collaboration after Dasara. Nani will next appear in Sujeeth’s Bloody Romeo.
