BB 20: Rhiti Tiwari’s Family Denies Ekam Bawa’s Step-Father Claim
Rhiti Tiwari’s family has denied Ekam Bawa’s claims about being her stepfather and Pratima Pandey’s husband, issuing a legal notice and warning publishers to verify the allegations.
Bigg Boss 20 contestant Rhiti Tiwari’s family has denied Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa’s claims that he is her stepfather and the legally married husband of her mother, Pratima Pandey. A legal notice issued on behalf of Rhiti and her mother described the claims as false and baseless and warned media organisations against publishing or republishing them without independent verification.
According to the notice, Bawa, also known as Parminder Kumar Bawa and Ekam Bains, has publicly claimed to have a stepfather-daughter relationship with Rhiti and a marital relationship with her mother. The family has categorically rejected both claims, stating that he holds no such legal status or relationship.
The notice also alleges that Bawa’s social media posts and videos about Rhiti and her family are defamatory and damaging to their reputation. It states that civil and criminal legal action has been initiated and asks publishers and platforms to remove content containing the disputed claims.
The controversy began after Rhiti spoke about her financial struggles inside the Bigg Boss house, including receiving between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 a month from her father, actor-politician Manoj Tiwari. Bawa later questioned her account, pointing to what he described as expensive handbags, cars and properties.
He also made further allegations about his alleged relationship with Rhiti’s mother and criticised Rhiti’s conduct on the reality show.
Rhiti’s team has urged media organisations to independently verify Bawa’s claims and seek documentary evidence before publishing them. Rhiti continues to be a contestant on Bigg Boss 20.
