Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan has sparked an unusual response in Bihar, where some cinema screenings are taking on the atmosphere of Chhath celebrations. Viewers have reportedly removed their footwear before entering theatres, while women in traditional attire have been seen distributing thekua among audiences.

At Cine Galaxy in Muzaffarpur, footage showed moviegoers leaving their shoes outside the auditorium. The response appears to be closely linked to the film’s depiction of regional faith and its Chhath-themed sequences.

A major emotional moment is the song Chhathi Maiya, featuring the voice of late singer Sharda Sinha, popularly known as Bihar Kokila. Videos from screenings show audiences reacting emotionally, with some viewers joining their hands during scenes depicting traditional worship.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala also shared footage of audiences clapping and participating during the sequence, describing the song as an emotional representation of faith and devotion.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and produced by Ekta Kapoor, The Vvaan combines folk mythology, supernatural elements, mysticism and action. The film released in theatres on September 25 and has particularly drawn attention in Bihar for its depiction of local traditions.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk figures cited in the report, the film’s domestic net collection stood at Rs 45.08 crore, with India gross earnings reported at Rs 53.72 crore as final figures continued to be compiled.
