CJP Legal Team Moves to Seek Bail for Saurabh Das, Ashutosh Ranka

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) legal team is preparing to approach Delhi’s Patiala House Court to seek bail for Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were sent to Tihar Jail.
Das has been lodged in Jail Number 2, while Ranka was placed in Jail Number 4. Another party member, Ajinkya Shinde, secured bail after signing a peace bond.
A Special Executive Magistrate initiated an inquiry into alleged breaches of a peace bond and ordered custody. The proceedings reportedly considered the individuals’ conduct and social media posts.
The party’s legal counsel is preparing to challenge the judicial custody order, arguing that the prescribed procedure under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was not followed during the ongoing inquiry.
The legal challenge is expected to focus on whether the authorities complied with the required safeguards before ordering custody. The court will consider the bail plea and any challenge to the procedure in accordance with the applicable law.
